TECHNICAL SERVICE INSTRUCTOR: HEAVY EQUIPMENT

A DIRECT- HIRE POSITION with Excellent Benefits

INDUSTRY: MANUFACTURING

LOCATION: NORFOLK, VIRGINIA

SALARY RANGE: $60 - $70K

 

SUMMARY:

Seeking a Trainer for the Technical Services Department for the production of Construction Vehicles. Will apply Heavy Equipment experience and knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.

  • Provide technical training and technical support to dealers and customers in the use of Heavy Equipment
  • Develop training and content for Technical Service classes to instruct dealers and customers in the proper service and maintenance of vehicles, engines, and other components
  • Lead classes in Hydraulics, Mechanical, and Electrical systems and assign projects

  • Plan and develop instructional design strategies
  • Offer hands-on instruction on heavy equipment
  • Offer dealers and customers telephone and in-person support with troubleshooting procedures
  • Analyze defective parts
  • Maintain list of special tools required for all dealers

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associates or Technical degree and 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of work experience and education
  • Experience providing technical training related to the service, maintenance, troubleshooting and operation of construction equipment.
  • Must have an understanding of systems within the automotive or heavy equipment industry, incl. hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems, as well as engine and power train systems
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics
  • Familiarity with training evaluations
  • Microsoft Office knowledge, incl. Word and Excel spreadsheets
  • Must be able to travel within the US and internationally 30% of the time
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a passport

CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER / PROJECT ENGINEER: MANUFACTURING

A DIRECT-HIRE POSITION

INDUSTRY: HEAVY INDUSTRIAL MANUFACTURING

LOCATION: NORFOLK

SALARY RANGE: $70K - $80K 


SUMMARY: 

Apply engineering knowledge to design, upgrade, or develop facilities, machines, equipment and processes for the manufacturing of products. Manage facility construction and improvement projects from bidding, design, contractor management to scheduling and completion. Evaluate product specifications to determine designs for new and existing manufacturing facilities. Review design proposals and process requirements for construction projects to improve industrial machinery and equipment. Perform feasibility studies for new plant equipment design or modification of existing facilities, with respect to cost, space availability, time constraints, and overall company planning.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Seeking a recent graduate with a B.S. in Construction Management OR a Construction Project Manager / Project Engineer
  • CAD drafting experience is a must
  • Mathematical knowledge: algebra, probability and statistical inference, and basic geometry and trigonometry
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply in all measuring units
  • MS Office and Excel spreadsheets
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Understanding of fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions
  • Able to travel occasionally nationally and internationally as needed
  • Must be able to obtain a valid driver's license and passport
