Medical Front Desk Representative is needed on a part-time basis. We need a candidate Tuesday and Friday 7:45 a.m.-4:45 a.m.  Also needs to be flexible to cover vacation and sick time for other personnel other days of the week,  when necessary.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  •  Responds to initiates the care for medical emergencies throughout the facility. This includes the ability to perform continuous CPR until properly relieved.

  • Administers and documents medications on the Medication Administration Record.

  • Assists with histories and physicals on inmates.

  • Assesses patient's health status and refers to appropriate level of healthcare provider.

  • Physically assists Physician in patient examinations and treatments.

  • Documents all nursing care provided.

  •  Implements and follows up on Physician / Dentist written orders and verbal orders if permitted.

  •  Teaches healthcare information to patients and correctional staff.

  •  Adheres to safety and security policies and participates in disaster drills.

  • Performs venipuncture and I. V. therapy, if certified.

  • Collects samples, specimens and cultures per Physician orders.

  • Follows security regulations for keys,, sharps .and.control.led medications.

  •  Ability to deal with and respond to stressful situations in a stressful environment.

        Counts CDS Drugs and contraband, if required.

        Assist Physician in minor medical / surgical procedures.

        Transcribes and posts all therapeutic orders generated by the Physician.

      Initiates and documents prescribed treatments for nursing interventions in compliance with policy and procedure.

        Administers routine and/or PRN medications as ordered.

        Practices universal precautions when providing nursing procedures.

        Assists in maintaining a neat, clean and safe environment for patients and coworkers.

        Keeps patient information confidential and respects the patient’s right to privacy.

        Keeps health team informed of observations and changing conditions of patients.

        Must maintain and show proof of an active state nursing license  and place a  copy of the license in the

personnel file maintained by the RN supervisor.

        Is cognizant and adheres to all security regulations of the institution.

        Attends scheduled in-service programs and staff meetings.

        Maintains an active CPR certification.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Graduate from a licensed Practical Nursing Program. Currently licensed as a Practical Vocational Nurse in the stale. Good physical health, able to function in a stressful environment arid relate well to the patients, security staff and healthcare team members.

ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDS

The job may risk exposure to extreme heat and/or cold, wet or humid conditions, noise, fumes, odors, moving machinery, electrical shock, traffic and toxic or caustic chemicals. Risk of exposure to bio-hazard communicable diseases and bodily fluids.

Able to fill in for staff on an occasional basis.  Conducts ongoing employee evaluation of clinical staff on a regular basis.

  2. Quality Assurance:  Ensures the practice work environment is clean, efficient, and consistent with usual standards for the rendering of medical services. Working in concert with the physician director, assists in ongoing internal chart review as needed to ensure appropriate medical recordkeeping and regulatory compliance.

  3. Medical Records:  Safeguards all patient information in accordance with practice policies and HIPAA standards. Ensures appropriate organization of patient files and accountability for file location at all times. Monitors file information to ensure accuracy and completeness, and advises the practice manager of any deficiencies found. Ensures medical assistants are properly trained regarding medical records standards.

  4. Staff Training:  Provides timely and consistent ongoing staff training regarding specific individual and clinical functions and the interrelationships of such functions. Ensures new employees are appropriately trained and oriented.  Is able to develop and carry out training programs successfully.

  5. Administrative Support: Provides assistance and support to the practice manager as needed.

  6. Safekeeping of Practice Assets:  Ensures all equipment and facilities are clean and useable, regularly and economically maintained, and constantly secured. Also provides staff training for new equipment prior to use.

  7. Policies and Procedures:  Ensures all clinical policies and procedures are      

maintained in written form within accessible manuals, available for reference by

staff members.

Outpatient Coder/Auditor/Trainer needed at Great Lakes, IL Naval Facility for Government Contract.

Successful Government Contractor, a nationwide consulting firm specializing in healthcare information management services is currently seeking personnel for this exciting government project on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities: Apply coding classification standards and guidelines to medical record documentation; ensure that all encounter documentation is evaluated for consistency with the nature of the patient encounter (i.e., audit); evaluate occurrences of deficiencies and/or inconsistencies in medical record documentation through the healthcare provider query process, and assist health care providers in proper code selection. The Auditor/Trainer shall specifically be responsible for performing the duties and tasks associated with auditing Government coded outpatient records and providing training each month.

Requirements:
Coder certification may be any of the following based on their required duties: CPC-H, CPC, CCS, CCS-P, RHIT, RHIA

Minimum 1 year of auditing experience within the preceding 2 years.
Possess 1 year of HIM experience in process improvement, data quality improvement, or documentation improvement.

Coder is required to have extensive knowledge of the official ICD-9/10-CM, CPT, MS-DRG, APC, and HCPCS Coding Guidelines for coding and reporting. Contract personnel shall read, understand, speak and write English.

Coding position will require some provider training and minimal travel. Based on previously completed audits, the coder/trainer will follow up on issues or trends found within the documentation of a particular physician for evaluation and further training.

U.S. Citizenship required.  THIS POSITION IS ONSITE at Great Lakes Naval Base.

Outpatient Coder/Auditor/Trainer needed at Twentynine Palms, CA for Government Contract.

Successful Government Contractor, a nationwide consulting firm specializing in healthcare information management services is currently seeking personnel for this exciting government project on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities: Apply coding classification standards and guidelines to medical record documentation; ensure that all encounter documentation is evaluated for consistency with the nature of the patient encounter (i.e., audit); evaluate occurrences of deficiencies and/or inconsistencies in medical record documentation through the healthcare provider query process, and assist health care providers in proper code selection. The Auditor/Trainer shall specifically be responsible for performing the duties and tasks associated with auditing Government coded outpatient records and providing training each month.

Requirements:
Coder certification may be any of the following based on their required duties: CPC-H, CPC, CCS, CCS-P, RHIT, RHIA

Minimum 1 year of auditing experience within the preceding 2 years.
Possess 1 year of HIM experience in process improvement, data quality improvement, or documentation improvement.

Coder is required to have extensive knowledge of the official ICD-9/10-CM, CPT, MS-DRG, APC, and HCPCS Coding Guidelines for coding and reporting. Contract personnel shall read, understand, speak and write English.

Coding position will require some provider training and minimal travel. Based on previously completed audits, the coder/trainer will follow up on issues or trends found within the documentation of a particular physician for evaluation and further training.
